It's quiet this morning. Things always seem quieter on a rainy day.

My weekend away was just what I needed. I had some girl time with my best friend and it helped me relax and put things into perspective. She actually said something that made a lot of sense. She told me that she always saw me as the girl who didn't need approval. I always did what I wanted and didn't care what others thought. Lately I have been becoming a girl who does need approval. It was kind of a light bulb going off moment. She is so right about this. I've been trying to please everyone, but not myself!

She also went on to tell me that the more you need approval, the less you'll get it. Also very true. It made me realize that I need to get over trying to please everyone and just go back to being me. I can't worry about what Jason thinks, or what Patrick thinks, or anyone for that matter (except maybe my parents).

The weekend wasn't just ah-ha moments. We had a lot of fun sightseeing in Washington D.C. It was my first time there so everything was new. I took tons of pictures and sent them to my parents since they funded this little trip. I convinced my dad that it was educational and historic. I know he saw through my BS, but I still wanted to make sure I took in some history while I was there so that it wouldn't be a complete lie.

Well, back to work. I have to prepare a bunch of handouts for a meeting later in the week.

I'm glad I could help. That's what friends are for, right?

We should do it again soon. It was nice having a girl's weekend away! :)

XOXO,
